The Collective Brewing Project is a self-proclaimed “Frankenmonster” of a brewery in Fort Worth, Texas. Our first collaborative effort with The Collective comes to life in the “Brett Series” of sour beers.
In this case, however, Brett is not the name of a brewer but rather a nickname for Brettanonmyces – a word with far too many syllables, meaning a non-spore forming genus of yeast. This yeast is responsible for the sour beer family, noted for their funky and citrusy flavors. Keeping this in mind, Caliber drew inspiration from the unique, often experimental flavor profiles and created a 5-part label system.
The punk-influenced labels — just like the brews they represent — are funky, fresh and don’t take themselves too seriously.
Our second series, named the Foeder Fantasies after the oak barrels (Foeders) in which the beer is fermented, is, well, a love story. Okay, maybe not like you think, but it’s a story of two men and their dreams of giant wooden barrels. It may be an unnatural love, but it’s one that is fueled by their collective passions and limited only by one’s imagination. Don’t judge — just enjoy the ride.
